How to install Windows for VPS
By default, many VPSs come with one of the variations of Linux systems - Debian, Ubuntu, etc. But if you want to reinstall the OS on Windows, this article will tell you how to do it.
There are 2 options to reinstall the OS - through the server control panel or through an ISO image. The first option is easier, but if your provider does not provide the service of reinstalling the operating system for VPS, you will have to install manually via ISO. To begin with, let's consider the first option.
Installation via control panel
To install, open the control panel of your server and look for the system reinstallation section. Depending on the program, the interface may differ. To find out the exact location, consult your provider - tech support will tell you where to find the right section. LikeVPS support works 24/7 without weekends.
Next, select the Virtual Server Management section, click on the desired server and click on the “Reinstall” button (or something similar). Specify the desired OS version and click “OK”. Wait for the installation to finish.
Installation via ISO image
You will need an ISO image for installation. Next we will look at an example of installation on VPSBGl. The general scheme will be approximately the same for other control panels.
- Go to Client Area, under Services and click on the Details button. Next, open the Control Panel, which will give you a list of VPSs:
- In the left menu, go to the ISO section and add the image:
- Specify the link and wait for the ISO file to finish downloading:
Once the ISO file has been successfully downloaded, you will need to install it on the VPS. To do this, go to the “List VPS” tab in the menu on the left. There, select the server you want to install the ISO on and click on the “Manage” button (it will be labeled with an arrow icon on the right side of the screen).
Once you get to the management page, go to “Settings”, select “VPS configuration” and select your ISO image:
Then change the boot order:
Next, click the “Submit” button and wait for the installation to complete. After that you will only need to restart your VPS.
